ARC Linkage Project: Demographic change, ageing and the workforce: An integrated model to inform workforce development and planning in Australia

Increasing our knowledge of the likely impact of demographic change and ageing on the Australian workforce is a national priority. This project responds to this challenge. It aims to provide researchers and policymakers with a more detailed understanding of the factors influencing workforce participation. It will inform the development of strategies seeking to address skill gaps and labour shortages arising from the ageing of the workforce. Project partners include the University of Adelaide, Flinders University, the University of South Australia, the South Australian Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology and the Office of Public Employment in South Australia.

The Chief Investigators are Associate Professor John Spoehr (University of Adelaide), Professor Graeme Hugo (University of Adelaide), Professor Sue Richardson (Flinders University) and Professor Ed Carson (University of South Australia).
