Creating a framework

There are thousands of potential indicators to choose from. Choosing the most appropriate set for your purpose requires research, planning and consultation. It also requires access to data or the resources to purchase or collect it.

This section of the site will help you to create an indicator framework for your organisations specific reporting requirements. A sample framework is provided as a guide. The indicators are organised thematically.

When developing an indicator framework and choosing indicators, it is worth remembering that:  

• Each organisation and community should determine its own process for selecting indicators.
• Indicators are signposts to guide the development, implementation and review of strategies.
